This statement is being recorded from the unceded ancestral lands of the Lenni Lenape people. We honor the Lenape and other Indigenous caretakers of these lands and waters, the elders who lived here before, the Indigenous today, and the generations to come.

The American theater has historically excluded womxn and BIPOC folx from leadership and autonomy. It has denied us not only a voice in popular culture, but it stifles our power politically. We, at PST, are on a mission to change that. We have imagined and built a new world of theater-making and community-building.

At PST, we hold the responsibility for being the historians of our culture. Our shows reflect the lived experiences of our audiences and for many, it may be the first time they see themselves on stage. Our post-show talkbacks and facilitated community conversations address local issues while providing resources to those in need. Our free classes and events provide neighbors space to connect, heal, and allow their imaginations to run free. We are striving to shape ourselves and others into future community leaders and collaborators.  

PST has done a lot with very little and now, with continuous drastic cuts to the arts, we have even fewer resources to amplify our voices and preserve our histories. We urge you to donate generously and if you aren’t able, please consider writing us a “love letter” about your support and experience with PST. Your generosity, time, and love will propel us closer to the world we want to live in.
